3 Features to shut off for an Extended Battery life

Here is the thing, you are probably on a mission with your smartphone, and unfortunately you have no means of electricity to power your mobile to save its battery life.

It’s a mission you must complete but the stars have fated your phone to hang on a 10% life span. You can’t risk the little old mobile running down on you and leaving in you some bit of frustration should you not complete your task. Imagine it’s a movie you just downloaded and desperately wish to watch longer?

What do you do in these instances if you had an idea of saving the battery life to make it run slower?

Some might have the idea of reducing the phone’s screen brightness to a lower level, or turning on airplane mode to prevent the mobile network from consuming the battery’s remaining energy or perhaps place the phone on screen lock.

3 Features to shut off for an Extended Battery life

In a lot of ways these things also help users slow the pace at which the phone’s battery runs out but there are also other features to turn off to conserve the battery’s energy or better still, ensure a longer battery life.

Turn off Location status

A lot of times we activate our Xender application to send or receive files from friends and while at it, we tend to turn on our Wi-Fi and also our device’s ‘Location’ status, and once we are done, we hastily exit the app forgetting to turn off our Wi-Fi or Location.

Of course, this is quite unintentional on our part considering the Location status being turned on for a considerable length of time affects our phone’s battery life, something we wouldn’t leave on if we knew it was still turned on. So, next time you turn on Xender to transfer or receive files, remember to look at the Location status once you are done.

Disable Background Apps

Speaking of Xender, there are a lot of times we have apps running in the background without our knowledge. This instance may partly not be our own fault sometimes as to the best of our knowledge we have already exited these apps but unknown to us, they still run in the background and maintain our online status on them.

They can be the WhatsApp application which has us continually receiving message updates very often whether we like it or not, or it can be a totally unrelated app we have no idea of. These stuffs drain the battery life quicker than you can think of and also your mobile data.

The safer line of action is to disable these background apps using your phone’s settings, or go to the google play store to download or install applications such as the App Freezer or Greenify.

These apps stop other applications from running in the background when not in use.

Turn off Auto Sync

So you may have noticed your phone tends to heat up a lot while its battery life continues to drain. It beats your imagination as to why. But like the saying often goes, some solutions to certain problems lays directly in front of us only we are very much oblivious to them.

To solve this issue and conserve your battery life, you only need to go to your device’s ‘Settings’ trace the ‘Auto Sync’ mode on it and quickly switch it off. Once this is done, you only need to chill out and watch that 10 percentage battery level last longer.

Microsoft mulls over the idea of Investing in Zupee

According to reports from people with knowledge of the situation, Microsoft has recently held discussions to invest in the Indian play-to-earn gaming platform Zupee and has offered to potentially lead a funding round of over $100 million.

This is the most recent of a series of bets the cloud services giant has made to grow its business in the important international market.

The two companies haven’t come to a deal, and the sources admonished that there is a risk the deal won’t actually happen. According to a person with knowledge of the situation, a team at Microsoft has warned the multinational computer giant against the merger due to concerns over the perception of betting.

Microsoft mulls over the idea of Investing in Zupee

Zupee choose not to respond. A request for comment made to Microsoft late last month received no response. According to two people with knowledge of the situation, the Zupee contract attempted to require the business to use Azure and other Microsoft cloud services, like many other startups, like Oyo in which Microsoft has invested in India.

The “skill-based casual gaming” platform is run by the New Delhi-based company Zupee, which has received over $120 million to far, including around $100 million in its Series B round that it closed in January of this year.

Over 70 million downloads of board games like Ludo, Snakes and Ladder, Playing Cards, and Carrom have been made by the company, which was recently valued at $600 million.

It established a relationship with Jio Platforms, India’s largest cellular operator with more than 420 million members, in January that it referred to as “first-of-its-kind strategic.”

In a previous press release, Zupee stated that the two businesses would cooperate to create a “environment that would promote faster and more efficient creation and delivery of products and services.”
